Sync 3 unit is at the "Please insert USB stick...." Error update packages not found...

I have Part number: JS7T-14G371-JHG a MY20 unit that I ran the updater and got a black screen. I mistakenly followed advice from AI. I know this was my downfall. Lesson learned. I followed the link that was sent to me to try to get the screen back, and I have the unit back in reformat mode, asking to put in a usb drive. I am trying not to make the same mistake as before and just don’t know where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated. This is a non nav unit. I’m fine with going back to 3.0 if that is an option.

That’s great, do you have a picture? If its the normal reformat screen, you just need to connect the USB you creates, which was a reformat USB if I recall correctly. But share your screen before moving forward…

I tried the original usb stick I made with the syn3updater but then get the below message.

Error failed to partition eMMC… After this screen I can remove the USB stick and it boots back to the Please insert USB stick… screen.

This is not good, usually associated with a hardware issue…

Was it you who recovered it with the method from the other thread?

Yeah, it was me.

Sadly, it does not look good…
One thing you could try is a different pendrive, we had issues with PNY in the past, but I’m not sure if that would trigger such a failure.

Is this the same MY20 APIM that you used originally? Your trying to reformat it again?

Yes sir.
