I am trying to update Sync3 maps to ANZ 2.24 which is not yet on the Updater. I understand these maps are available for download in the US (NA 2.24) but Ford Australia advised me recently that this version ANZ 2.24 became available for download in Australia late last year. I currently have version ANZ 2.23 in my factory sync3 (2017 Ford Escape) downloaded via Cyanlabs. Could you please check if Cyanlabs has access to the ANZ 2.24 map download to put on Syn3Updater?
Do you have the names of the nav packages Ford is offering you?.
2.24 ANZ maps were found but later removed from Syn3updater since they had an issue while searching stuff via voice (or something like that, it was related to searching things).
So if you have the the file names Ford is officially offering you we may be able to compare them to the ones found a few months ago.
No, sorry. I have contacted many dealers here and Ford Customer Service re version etc. and they either have no clue or say they will get back to me which they never do of course. Of course they are happy for me to go to their dealership and get a A$187 update which could have issues as you suggest. They just advised me that the latest map update was August last year but were unable to give version no. or package details and just told me to check on their website with my vin. which advises nothing except old software updates for my 2017 model which is now updated through Cyanlabs to 3.4.23188 anyway. I will just continue with map version ANZ 2.23 as the only difference with the later version appears to be speed limit changes in my area currently. Thanks for reply.
So… Your unit originally came with 3.0(or below) and you updated it to 3.4?.
If so, Ford has no way of knowing that, so if they say there’s a map update for your car it’s not for 3.4.
And, as per your post, nothing is shown in the Ford’s page associated to your VIN, so it’s not clear what’s new (if any).
If you like, you could try installing the 2.24 ANZ that were found last year, but as I said we had to remove them since there was some issues with searches… And, believing your unit is not MY20, going back to your current versions is also possible should anything go wrong…
Thanks, appreciate your advice, but I cannot access ANZ 2.24 on Syn3Updater as you know and I am not going to risk a Ford update for $187 (in Australia) as it is probably out of date anyway as they are unable to give me any details of the package.
I know you can’t, they were removed as an option, but I know which files they are. If you wanna try you will need to manually create the USB, no Syn3updater for that… I need to look for the file names though.

I search for many map destinations with voice and make phone calls using voice to call the recipient etc. and I took on board your comments about possible issues there so I think I will just wait for (hopefully) the next update as what I have currently works perfectly.
