SYNC3 to 3.4 Error

Please tell me where to get a smaller language voice pack and Gracenotes

I try all the ways, downloading the tutorial files, and also with the program. I had no luck, I stay in updating spend half an hour and does nothing, it should be fast since I have no maps

Hi Adam, were you able to solve this problem? I have the same configuration as you and want to upgrade to 3.4 but I’m little bit afraid now. Hope you’ve fixed it.

I got this error when I tried my hand at updating my Sync 3.

Now my screen is stuck on this…

Welcome to the forum. Post a pic of the content of your USB.

Your usb is not created properly providing details of what you have done will help.

Thank you for taking the time…

So I think your on Mac or Linux. Your usb is likely formatted as gpt not mbr. It needs to be master boot record and exfat not anything else.

This is how I have the drive formatted.

Took the drive to my office and formatted on my windows pc, reinserted it and I get the screen “starting update”…it never starts.

You still are not making sure it’s MBR not GPT

The disk manager shows it’s the correct format.

Is this a NON-NAV unit? If so why use reformat? Where are the maps?

Can you post the contents of the reformat.lst file?

It’s the non nav version

Should reformat be removed?

I suppose the contents of the autoinstall.lst file are just the boot loader, 1u5t-14g386-cb?

The reformat tool should not have been used, as this is a non-nav unit. (And not a 3.0 software.) However, try this:

  1. Make a new usb formatted exfat.

  2. Make a SyncMyRide folder with the three files above in it.
    5U5T-14G381-ED_1591670365000.TAR.GZ
    5U5T-14G391-CL_1580862907000.TAR.GZ
    4U5T-14G423-CA_123766.TAR.GZ

  3. Copy DONTINDX.MSA to the root of the usb. (If you don’t have it, leave it out.)

  4. Make a new autoinstall.lst file. Copy this:
    [SYNCGen3.0_ALL]
    Item1 = 5U5T-14G381-ED_1591670365000.TAR.GZ
    Open1 = SyncMyRide\5U5T-14G381-ED_1591670365000.TAR.GZ
    Item2 = 5U5T-14G391-CL_1580862907000.TAR.GZ
    Open2 = SyncMyRide\5U5T-14G391-CL_1580862907000.TAR.GZ
    Item3 = 4U5T-14G423-CA_123766.TAR.GZ
    Open3 = SyncMyRide\4U5T-14G423-CA_123766.TAR.GZ
    Options = Delay,AutoInstall

  5. Save and copy to root of usb.

  6. Install.

What year is the F150 you are installing this into? Is this a Sync hardware upgrade? Obviously the usb worked the first time as you were able to load the bootloader and get to this point. Let us know if this works…

A 2019 xlt, thank You for the help. I will give it a try
