I mentioned above that the reformat tool should not have been used, But this would have been for units already on 3.2+. If you were coming from 3.0, you would have to use the tool to reformat the EMMC. The is another post here which is exactly the same situation. Non-nav sync 3.3 issues

I configured the downloader for what you are doing and got this result. Is this what you originally had? Look at the log file it generated originally if you still have it.

Another suggestion if you would like to try it is to remove the Delay variable in the auto install.lst file.

Iā€™m stuck on the ā€œ starting upgradeā€ screenā€¦20 minute ride to work with no change. Not sure exactly what if any Iā€™m doing wrong. Iā€™ve tried all of the suggestions with no success.

Iā€™ve used the Kingston drives and have not had an issue, but I think another drive would be recommended. Thanksā€¦

By the way, I created the install on a Mac with Parallels with Windows 10 and the upgrade was successful. The drive was formatted under Windows by the Downloader app without issues.

While you are right it doesnā€™t need to be used. There is no harm in doing it this way still. Reformat is technically a cleaner way of upgrading anyway as it makes sure to free up space from wrong or old packages etc.

The autoinstall will be the bootloader onlyā€¦make a new file with that only. The reformat looks fine.

Iā€™m going to throw this out there, but maybe using version 3.4.19200 with the reformat tool and the appropriate voice file and no Gracenotes might work? As a test. Then update to 20136 with Gracenotes after.

Yes although If there is no filename after the error it means it had a untar error because it couldnā€™t find any files in the reformat.lst. my guess is the reformat.lst file is called reformat.lst.txt or something stupid.

That file also does not look like plain text you donā€™t use any word processor it has to be like notepad or textedit.
