Tried updating FOrd Transit Courier 2022 sync version but now have just black screen

Orginally showed updating software etc and left go through motions for about an hour but no joy, any help would be appreciated

Update - I pressed the soft reset command - power and fast forward buttons together for 10 seconds and screen came back with new software installed but all text appears wrong, it is like it is zoomed in on part of the screen and certain buttons do not respond like settings button and a few others. Has anyone ever seen this issue?

Yep 4 inch screen, looks like text/graphics should be for a 7/8 inch screen.

Manually install the 4’’ version, which is NU5T-14G381-BB (Sync3 v3.4.22251).
Syn3updater does not work with 4’’ variants.

Dont extract, just copy it. Also dont rename the file.

Appear to just have a black screen now, even if i press soft reset combinationit goes back to a black screen and all radio buttons unresponsive

What did you do? Share the .lst files that are on the USB’s root you used.

No have the syncmyride at the same level and the NU5T-14G381-BB file in the sub folder of the syncmyride. Is there some form reset option

Ok, and you still see the boot screen and audio plays?
i mean, the unit is not 100% dead, USB ports are powered up and audio/backup camera work?

Hi it still boots with Ford logo, and audio plays, last set Radio station plays, you cannot change the station, the only button/knob that works is the volume up/down dial which is a godsend as stuck on Spirit FM, all other buttons/dials unresponsive.

When i turned the van on this morning screen came back at the zoomed in 7/8 inch screen level it had a few days ago, where some of the buttons do work but not all, so i tried USB again with autoinstall.lst and SyncMyRide on root and https://cyanlabs.net/fhub/sync3/sw-db/?ivsu=NU5T-14G381-BB at subfolder level. It went through the installing software before it eventually went back to black screen, with radio still playing. I left it running for about an hour and half between being in the driveway and driving to work. Went back out to start it an hour later but screen is still black. The unit is definitely not dead

Ok, understood.

If the screen still was showing the 8’’ variant, then the install didn’t go through.

If you tried installing the 4’’ variant again and the screen remained black, consider it installed for the time being.

This is what you should do:

perform some soft resets
if that does not bring the screen back , unplugged the battery over night to force a cold reboot.
if none of that works, then try creating and running an interrogator log against the unit, see if it produces an XML output file. If so, share it with us.
