I am seeking your assistance.

I have a 2017 F150 Platinum trim bought in the GCC. I am unsure of what HW/SW Version I have so I can update it to 3.4 without loosing my maps or them changing to NA.

Hello.

There are some database available in the FHUB → Ford Hub - CyanLabs

Try the SW database for the ISVUs that are installed, and the HW one for the APIM itself.

The SW says you have a package for ANZ (maps) and another one for ROW (gracenotes)…

What’s the deal with that APIM?
Do you know its history?

I am a complete noob.

The car was purchased from the Ford dealer in Qatar. No mods or similar.

I don’t want to update if I loose the NAV system, support in this part of the world is almost non existent.

You will need to get maps for Middle East, this can be done for a small fee from Cut Down Map Package Generator - CyanLabs

Only select Middle East And North Africa

alternatively you can try to update with Syn3 Updater to “2019 Q4 - ROW (All)” but you may not have enough storage space.

I will definitely look into that. I have the feeling I have some weird configuration out of the dealership and I am afraid to screw things up beyond repair. How can I make shut what version I have and how much storage? As I said I am a complete noob on these matters.

Looking at the APIM asbuilt configuration, you are already set for the correct region, 5141=Qatar. The Sync version is 3.0.20204. The settings in the APIM were most likely modified by the dealer in Qatar, as they also turned off your parking assist features. (GCC). The rest of the asbuilt is correct for your model of vehicle.

As far as upgrading to Sync 3.4 and adding maps, this should not be an issue. You can either select the one set of maps for the Middle East, North Africa as mentioned above, or install the entire ROW package. (The values below are approximate based on 25% file compression.) The new formatting will look like this:
