Hello, I just purchased a 16 EcoBoost Mustagf running version 1.0 build 15139 and would like to upgrade to run Waze or Google Maps. I understand i also need a new USB hub and have also read I need to go to version 2.2 or 2.3 before moving to 3.XX. Problem is, I only see options to move to 3.3 or 3.4 in the Sync3updater . Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Dave

Hello.

Yes, you need to upgrade the hub for a AA/CP compatible one. The 2.2.xxxxx installation can be done manually (take 2016 Mustang Sync3 1.0 updated to 3.0 and no Apple Carplay! - #10 by SaNdMaN as reference) or use Syn3Updater’s utility tab option to do so (Utility Tab - CyanLabs).

Just make sure CP/AA works before moving to 3.4…

Thanks for the quick reply, Sandman. Just so i get it right, I can create a USB using the Sync3Updater tool under the ‘Create 2.2 Upgrade USB’ utility tab?
Just follow the instructions and replace the hub with a CP compatible one after the 2.2 upgrade? Thanks what I’ve seen others do in successful YouTube updates.

Yes.

Just to follow a certain order, yes… But you can do that at any point really… Considering upgrading software depends on you and is free, it makes sense for you to start going to 2.2 before changing the hub…
