"Update maps only" not updating them

So after i prepared the usb stick with “Update maps only " ( of course I chose the sync version that is the same as the one I have in my car ) and spend 1 hour and 20 minutes in my car a got notification on the screen " system updated” and…after reset nothing changed. Updating maps from F9 to F13 doesn’t work. What can be the issue here ?

Interrupting the process.

EU maps autoinstall will take you 3-6 hours to complete, there should be 3 reboots in total and you interrupted it after the 1st one.

This is your autoinstall.lst file, 3 sections, a reboot is performed while completing a section.

If you create an interrogator log and you see a mixture of versions, you need to complete the section 2 and 3. You can edit the autoinstall.lst and remove the already processed section and do it again.

You need to not have a mixture of map versions installed, old version will be displayed as installed until this mixture is solved.

That’s correct, each section starts with [ xxx ]…
Run sections 2 and 3 (from your original file) then create and share an interrogator log to see what’s on the unit.

Sadly for some reason this is not working. I don’t know, maybe i am doing something wrong. After i delete the first section adn saving the file i connected again usb stick to the car. sync restarted two times ( so with the first section three times in total) and..i still have F9 maps hmm

You still have a mix of maps on the unit, which will indicate F9. It is best to start the installation over…
You are also running an older version of Sync, 3.4 20282. You should upgrade to the latest version before updating the maps. Sync 3.4.23188.

Place those in the SyncMyRide folder on the USB.
Place this autoinstall.lst file in the USB root. There should be nothing else on the USB and it needs to be formatted as ExFat MBR.

This will take over an hour to complete and will reboot 3 times. DO NOT interrupt the procedure, DO NOT key cycle the ignition. DO NOT turn off the vehicle. It is best to have the engine running. Disable the engine cutoff timer in the IPC menu. You can extend the engine run time by also opening and closing the doors or moving the vehicle.

Yes I know that im running on older version and there is a reason for that. My unit is My20 so potentially there is a risk of breaking it during the update process thats why i wanted to update maps only. This seems to be much more safe.

Update the software via AUTOINSTALL, not reformat.

So from your original file, it seems the last installation section did not go through.

Those files needs to be reinstalled, you can create an autoinstall file for just those files and try again. If you double check what’s on the original 3 section file and what’s on the unit, you will see that those 5 files did not got installed. You can change the options keyword to just Autoinstall (like the first original section).

And yes, you should also update Sync3 itself.
