No hi or hello?, you must be a lot of fun…

If your screen is black and the unit does not exhibit sign of life (sound, powered USB ports and such), you reformatted a MY20 unit thus killing it.

hi, thanks for your attention and time, my car is lincoln mkx 2017, i think is not a my20 unit, how can i know? sound is workin when open the doors, usb port are not powered, and just for information i ve just bought the vehicle 2 days ago, y just wanted to update sync

From now on, use english. This is an english speaking community.

You broke it in 2 days?, that must be a record.

So this is a lie then:

Since you are not the 1st owner, you can’t possibly know that. It could had been replaced for a MY20 APIM at some point.

Unmount the APIM and share a picture of the sticker on its back. Or get forscan and an adapter and share the APIM model.

i will get an adapter and get forscan, i will share the apim model as soon as i get it, thanks for your time, the place i live its very difficult to get these, maybe en 4 o 5 day i will post the pictures

Sure, no problem, we can wait for either one of those elements

The Forscan route will always tell the truth since it reads what the APIM really is… The sticker, well, the sticker can be faked or manipulated… but we can tell as well if the sticker is genuine or not…

So whatever works for you, just post it when it you can. Unmounting the unit is free, but you will need to remove some pieces…

Hie man, if you plug in a USB stick, nothing happens? Any backlight or the screen is black as if there is 0 power to it?

hi, guys im back i got cable and connect forscan this is the apim register, how can i know if the apim is death (bricked) or alive?

We need the APIM model, go to the modules section and check what that is.

this is the apim part number, is it the model?

Well if you got this AB info from it than it is alive.

what can i do to get the screen back, because its blank

if it is readable, can i use a reformat tool or something like that?

Is the screen on? Can you see a backlight on?

Yes, thank you, that’s the model.

Sadly, APIM model JR3T-14G371-CJG is MY20, so you killed / bricked it by reformatting it. For future reference, keep in mind that you could have checked for that either manually in Syn3Updater, via our SYNC 3 APIM Hardware Database - CyanLabs or automatically via Syn3Updater while creating the USB pendrive.

Your options are limited:

No, not really. It’s a MY20 APIM that’s been reformatted, as built will be there, but the unit is bricked.

:sob: :sob: , ok i got it, thanks for your help, where can i get another apim?? and what models can i use in my car? (lincoln mkx 2017)

this is the one, amazon ,

I would not know, but if you are NA based you may consider contacting Naviupgrade.. he offers a recovery service for such APIMs, which as far as I know is the first method from the GitHub page I sent before…
