Updated from 3.4 23088 to 23188 and lost microphone functions on 2015 F350 (sync 2 to 3 upgraded done long time ago)
Everything worked fine with 23088, now bluetooth connection doesn’t hear me when i speak. like microphone is completely non operational, i read that this has happened to others, tried downgrading to other versions and no go, any ideas? i tried what they talk about here in this post but didn’t work, i do not know what values to try to change in ACM they mention this but don’t say what the changes need to be, any help appreciated, thanks.

Sync 3.4 Microphone Fix

Hello I hope this is posted in the correct area. If not I apoligize . I have a USA 2021 Ford Ranger using the most up to date 3.4 21194 via sync vin # update page. All is well with the system except the mic volume and quality is not usable both wireless and directly using correct cord. I spent over one hour with Ford support using two phones in my vehicle while she pushed every fix or reset checking and re-check mic quality. She finally admitted my mic quality was not usable. tried the items in this post, however could not do percussive test or calibration on my unit could not find in settings or diagnostic menu.

could not change ACM values as i don’t know what to try and change.
tried master reset, tried downgrading to other versions, even 3.3 ones, tried a different apim on older version and still no go, so this tells me its not apim related.

one thing i dont understand is how software can change an as built i did not think that is possible, but it seems the update changed somthing in my ACM as built maybe???

Sync upgrades cannot change the AB values. Especially the ACM values.

In some configurations they had the microphone pins at pin 5&6. With Sync 3 they moved the Microphone to pins 12&13.

This sounds more like a failing APIM. Would love to see the stickers on the back of the APIM.

its NOT the apim, i already tried a newer apim manufactured in 2023 and same result. maybe somthign during the update fried my microphone? i will take a pic of the apim sticker and upload it.
