Updated Sync 3.4, Build 22251 to 3.4.23188

Hello,

Got a question on updating my Sync form 3.4.22251 to 3.4.23188 and also do the map update. I have a 2017 F150 and I had used the Cyanlabs download on a thumb drive to go from Sync 3 to 3.4 back on 12/17/2022. I have been having an issue where either the screen does not load or it constantly ask about utilizing the advanced analytics. I read on F150 forum that this is a sign that the Sync needs updating. I went in to the Cyanlabs sync 3 updater and did a new thumb drive for the newer version. My question is that I saw something on the website about you should downgrade back to Sync 3 before updating. Is this true? I really do not want to mess this up. Thanks

Syn3 Updater Log File

I erased the old upload to create the new one. I do see a log path on my laptop from when I did the initial update from 3.0 to 3.4. it is C:\USERS\OWNER\AppData\Local\CyanLabs\Syn3Updater\Logs\

IF you are just trying to fix the problems introduced by .22251all you need all you need to do is a straight app update and keep your existing maps.
No down grade is needed and by default the USB that the updater creates will have the RW partition cleaner in it to get rid of the mess created by .22251 not cleaning up after itself.

You will want to do a master reset after the 3.4.23188 completes.

Hi.

So you already reformatted the unit in the past, you can do it again unless the unit has been serviced or changed after that date.

That’s because .22251 has a bug where a partition gets full. You need to get out of that build. If your rwdata partition is full, you need to check this thread for guidance → APIM Sync Settings Not Saving, VER_ERR08 Errors, Cannot Perform Master Reset or Upgrades/Updates (Solved)

As long as you configure Syn3updater correctly it will provide the recommended USB.
In your case it should be a downgrade USB. If you want to know more about installation methods, you should read the documentation since it’s very well documented.
