Upgrade Sync3 3.4 20136 to 3.4 Sync3 20196 using Syn3

My current version of Sync3 is 3.4 compilation 20136. I used the old Ford Sync Downloader app in July to update to this version. This week I used the new Syn3 app to try to update to the latest version of Sync3 (3.4 compilation 20196) but the following happened: On the Sync3 screen, the information that the system is updating normally appears, but more than 90 minutes have passed, so I turned it off, I removed the pendrive and when I called it worked normally but the version continues in 3.4 compilation 20136. I tried again on another day but the same happened. My sync3 continues to work but does not update to the latest version. What could you advise me? Thanks in advance!

post the log.txt file in the usb

Try doing part at a time so deselect Gracenotes and just do Apps and Voice, or even just do 1 at a time.

I tried your advice twice but the update did not happen and continues to version 3.4.20136 (working normally after attempts). During these attempts, I noticed that the pendrive led only lights up for a second and goes out and does not light up during all the minutes of the update; so I tested the pendrive on the computer and the led flashes normally. I tested another pendrive and the same happens in the update. Should I use the Syn3 setting for “Force autoinstall” in the next attempt? Or do you have any other advice?

Post your log file again.

Apparently a lot of people using SanDisk USB drives have been having similar issues. I would suggest trying another USB drive if you have one.

For reference I did the same upgrade using the same app and it worked for me without issues. I used a Lexar drive.

Edit: Just noticed that you used another USB drive in your first attempt. Never heard of the SMI brand. Perhaps see if you can get a USB from another reputable brand?

I have used nothing but SanDisk USB’s

Interesting. Just relaying what I’ve read elsewhere so of course could also have nothing to do with it either. At least another option to explore if all else fails

Used SanDisk here multiple times… no issues

Thank you all! Grateful to anyone who can continue contributing.

I have used SanDisk also, and had problems with the cheaper versions, but the newer usb3 versions seem to be ok. The Kingston drives seem to always work.

Were you able to upgrade or are you still at 3.4.20136?

If not, maybe review this thread:
