USB stopped working after updating to 3.0.23219

Good afternoon. I recently bought a car and decided to update Sync 3. I downloaded the 3.0.23219 firmware from the official Ford website using my VIN and transferred it to a USB drive according to the instructions. I installed the update. The installation completed without errors.

However, it turned out that the USB ports no longer work. I only have 2 USB ports in the center armrest, there are no others. The ports light up, but they don’t charge the phone, CarPlay doesn’t work—in short, it looks like a brick. A factory reset did not help. I am asking for assistance.

I don’t remember the exact build numbers before the update, but it was definitely 3.0.1xxxx.

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
Nope, no errors

You may need to upgrade the USB hub for your Apple iPhone. Check your USB hub against the ones listed here.

If you have not performed a master reset after the upgrade you should do so.

I’ve tried to do Master Reset twice, also switched off AC battery. Miracle not happend =(. So whats next? As I understood I need to upgrade USB Hub Firmware? Or I need to switch on USB2 in the APIM config?

Those will not work for this. You will likely need to replace the hub.

So, after many attempts with master resets and other settings resets, I finally managed to solve the problem!!!
I simply took the USB hub out of the armrest and disconnected it for 5 minutes (unplugged the two connectors from it).
Then I started the car without it, turned the car off, plugged the USB hub back in — and everything started working!

I’d really like this solution to stay on the Internet, because I couldn’t find anything like it anywhere.

Keep an eye on your hub. Might just be the update or bad connection, but could be a hub on the way out.

This makes me think you had some kind of bad connection, or maybe something is loose inside the hub itself…

Glad you got it working, but yes, keep an eye on it.
