Will reformatting delete the map? Even if I choose to keep the map. I installed 23188 with reformatting, but chose to keep the map without updating the map. After the update, the map reported an error “Navigation is not Functioning properly”. Can I reformat and install the version with the map to fix this problem? Also, can the universal reformat mod remove the restriction that 23188 cannot reformat? Can I reformat directly without downgrading first?

Thank you. I have two more questions.

  1. Can Universal SYNC 3 Reformat (SyncRenovation) break the limitation that Sync 3.4.19274 and above versions cannot use reformatting?
    If I use it first, can I use reformatting to install in any version?
  2. My current situation is equivalent to not installing the map, so if I only install the map, will it take a long time, about an hour? Will it be faster to reformat and install everything? How long will it take?

The reformat tool is blacklisted above that version, so you need to downgrade below that version to use the tool. That is what the Syn3 Updater does when left in automatic mode.

Leave the SYN3 Updater in AUTOMATIC mode. Select the version you want to install, like 3.4.23188, then select the maps to install. The Syn3 Updater will switch to downgrade, and will install Sync 3.3.19052 to use the reformat tool, and will then reformat and update to the selected Sync version and maps.
This is all explained in the instructions.

You should ask that at FMODS, but my understanding is that the blacklisting is intact, as the reformatter does not modify the Sync application.
