Wrong software problem

i updated sync 3.4 with an wrong software from cyanlabs,
i think i used 4U5T-14G381-AN instead of NU5T-14G381-AD

in forscan it shows no fault, but the screen is black,

there is power on usb port, but update doesnt work,

writing all other files with ucds is ok,but how to bring NU5T-14G381-AD in the module

SYNC Region: EU

Navigation Variant: Nav

Manufacturer Year: MY20

Install Type: OEM

Old SYNC Version: 3.4.20220

New SYNC Version: 3.4.23555

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
no errror

Update Method: CyanLabs Manual Method

The updater only uses Ford files, not something “special” that is written by CyanLabs, v3.4.23555 isn’t offered via the updater.

4U5T-14G381-AN is v3.3.19052, were you trying to do a reformat?

Does not exist.

A 2019 Focus would have come with Sync 3.3 or 3.4, so using the -AN file would not have caused this. Were you trying to load maps?

3.4.22020?

sorry my misstake,

i´m a ford mechanic and updated ~ 30 sync with reformat and ~50x 2020 newer,

last week i´m busy and used a stick with from an other customer car which i dont remind.

screen is black, apim shows no falt in forscan

ford fdrs tells me software 4U5T-14G381-AN is on the modul

but i think the most important is how to upload NU5T-14G381-AD

Sounds like you tried to reformat an APIM with what’s referred to as MY2020 hardware.

The vehicle MY/build date doesn’t exclude possibly having one of these in an earlier year.

What do you see on the screen with the vehicle running? Is it black or something else?

only black screen without backlight,

but i can flash it again with forscan or fdrs, - nothing changes

obd files are .vbf

i think it isn´t possible to flash the big 800mb usb files over obd network.

usb stick lights up,but i cant see some changes,

Why don’t you share the APIM model with us ?
Was the USB you used a reformat USB?

my misstake:

apim nr: LJ6T-14G532-MGN

i was really stressed,but i can´t believe that i used a reformat stick,

That’s not an APIM

LU5T-14G371-GKF

That’s an APIM, it’s MY20 so it’s dead if you ran a reformat USB on it.

Your options are limited:

i´m 90% sure not to reformated it,

do you know if obd comunication is possible on wrong reformated apims?

Sometimes it is, yes. But that won’t do anything for you. To unbrick the APIM you will need to connect directly to the motherboard and load a new ISO in the EMMC. At this point that is likely the only solution.

thank you mate!

Currently you can only reformat a my20 APIM by jailbreaking it and using Fmods SyncRenovation reformatting tool. Cyan labs is best for APIM that aren’t my20
