I used the automatic possibility of the sync3 updater to create a usb to downgrade with the new 2020 Maps Eu on my Kuga 2018 and keep the Sync 3 I was using, and after an hour I have the Maps and the sync in my car. All went well and sofar working smoothly after a system reset!

This downgrade issue I don’t understand but I have the right sync back. I use sync 3.4.20351. Very fast and no problems!
Where can find the new CN maps like these?
Today I finally did the update to 21020 and F10 maps (made a little trip with the car, nervous because I never did the reformat before). Downgrade took about 10 minutes, reformat en installation about 50 minutes. Everything seems to be working fine after a master reset.
The tutorial was spot on and easy to follow.
Don’t have radio logo’s for every station (main stations do have a logo), but never did actually. Probably not every station is in their database?
Next time I’ll see if I still get navigation instructions on the instrument cluster when using Android Auto (I believe this worked with Google Maps, not sure about Waze).

The reformat tool will not work on any 3.4 build, so we have to downgrade to 3.3. once we install the maps with 3.3 and the reformat tool, we can upgrade back to 3.4. simple

Just a note, technically 3.4.19200 and below will allow the reformat tool. Only 3.4.19274 and higher block it. The reason the updater downgrades to 3.3 is because it’s roughly half the size of a 3.4 build (~400mb vs ~800mb) so it will not only finish quicker but also free up more space.

Thanks for the explanation. Correct me if I am wrong. Ford uses a autoinstall and a Syncmyride dir to install from usb. Cyanlabs uses the reformattool to get it on Synchardware that hasn’t the original syncversion anymore. The partitiontable of the sync I have is changed from 2 with sync 3.0 to one partition with sync 3.3/4. From Ford I could download a update to a newer 3 0 sync and F9 maps, while I from you have sync 3 4. and F10 maps. This is weared!! Android auto is now also very good ro use. I have a Samsung phone with the latest apk.

If you want to test the new autoinstall method for NA/EU maps without reformat for people on 3.2+ already please change your application release branch to Ci
Once done press “Apply Settings”, the application should restart, once the application has restarted set the install mode to “Autoinstall”
Aslong as your install mode is Autoinstall you can safely ignore the MY20 warning.
Prior to creating the USB create a interrogator log, https://cyanlabs.net/docs/syn3updater/page/create-interrogator-log-usb
Once done save the xml file that is saved on your USB drive to your computer and prepare the USB drive as per the normal procedure (make sure install mode is still autoinstall)
Share the xml + log.txt and once validated insert the USB in to the car and wait for the install.
You cant make a omelet if you dont break some eggs. lol Or in this case a APIM.

i achieve to update my21 focus to 3.4.21020 + F10 maps with this step.
1- update base app + gracenote + dab logo’s
2- download maps and install (force autoinstall method)
3- download voice and install (force autoinstall method)
as now if you try to update all together will get memory error caused by low free space

Finally after Ci in updater got only map update it worked … But im little confused. It toke 57 minutes to instal, end in general and system info it still is write F9 on map ? Have i done something wrong ? must the usb be in after update reboot ?

I have download the new update and maps, the current version I have is 3,4,20351 with F9 maps. When I install the update it goes all fine, but when it said it is finished, he asked to set the language, I choose for Dutch and it stays in English. But after restarting the system he still asked for the USB drive, so I have inserted it again and all the process starts from the beginning. I have done this multiple times but nothings changes and I don’t have a working radio at the moment. Do you have any suggestions what went wrong?
