Hello, I used this method to update the navigation of a Ford raptor, from North America and installed the maps of Spain. It gave me problems after installation, but it worked, even though the voice was in German.
I tried to do a downgrade to reinstall again with more language packs, but I always get an error.

Sync 3.4.20237 - Feedback & Issues

You mean ANZ…As long as your APIM will have enough storage, you can. However, this is technically changing regions, and CyanLabs does not support that. You can use the updater to load the new version and ROW maps and voice. You will need to change the region info in the APIM. A good tutorial to read is Archive: EU Maps to US Car (3.4 Sync, F9 Maps), although not exactly what you want to do, it has the steps you should follow.

@imovane, you have a NON-NAV unit (HP5T-14G371-BAG) with 1.3GB of storage available. You have Gracenotes and are running Sync 3.4.19200, 5U5T-14G381-CD.

Your storage will allow you to upgrade to the latest Sync version. You may need to delete the Gracenotes first to perform the update and then re-install them.

Tutorial: Removal of Gracenotes

This utility will remove Gracenotes from your Sync system and release the memory used. This is useful if you have installed Sync 3.4 (which is a larger install vs Sync 3.2 and 3.3) and wish to make changes to your Sync system and the upgrade or downgrade will not run or stalls. If you have run the APIM Interrogator Utility to determine the specifics of your particular Sync unit installed in your vehicle and found there is less than 1.5 GB of free space, you will probably need to delete Gracenot…

When I bought a car from USA I had an icon Navigation but after upgrade from the ford web page this icon disapeared. Is it any possibility to install any navigation in my device?

Anyone know a way to change regions in MY20 cars ? The application says reformat is not safe for them so how can we change region and maps without reformat

The Syn3 Updater app does not change the region settings in your vehicle, it only enables you to load the maps, etc., for a different region. You will need FORScan, UCDS, or IDS to actually be able to change the region coding in the APIM or ACM. Further up this thread are discussions about this.

Note that CyanLabs does not support changing regions.

Without a reformat you can not change region so therefore you can not change region

Hi!
I bought a ford edge 2020 from USA. I from Poland. I really would like to converse sync 3 to polish maps and language. All right, what I done before:

1. Originally version of sync3 was 3.4.19274 and I updated this to version 3.4.21098 via tool from ford site.
2. I made a usb drive via syn3 updater with polish map and language.
3. The sync3 was updated but not really because when sync3 restarted itself show messege “installation failed, error code: mem_err01”.
4. I took a usb drive from hub in car and start forscan. In forscan I change values in appropriate adresse like in tutorial.

Now I can see Europe map on dipslay but navigation do not recognize polish cities ( recognize only cities from USA) and I can switch language to polish. Can you help me?

PS next I made a log. I have 25 GB total memory and free space 1.5 GB. Then I remove gracenote and now I have 2.2 GB free space.

You need the proper cut down maps. Something is missing. @CyanLabs can direct you what you need to do.
