Innacurate Navigation after Sync 2 to Sync 3 upgrade

i have a 2013 platinum f250 that came with sync 2 and i did the upgrade to sync 3 and since then ive had very innacurate navigation so i got a new gps antenna from sync my rides and the issue still persists. sometimes map is accurate for the first few minutes and then it starts to move miles away from where i actually am. i read on here that someone else had a similar problem with a different kind of vehicle due to some asbuilt data or something like that.. Please if anyone has some pointers id love the help i am completely stumped.

Where did you get the APIM from and who provided the custom config?

This sounds like a bad APIM config and possibly bad antenna placement.

How many satellites show in the diagnostic menu?

i got it online somewhere about 6 months ago and cant find the order information but as far as the diagnostics menu is that in the settings on my sync 3 unit?

Post your asbuilt info for the APIM. It’s likely the vehicle info section is incorrect.

Sync 3 retrofit questions

OK, I have been Forscan programing this Sync 3 retrofit now for the last few days and I think I may have it all figured out except for the Nav input while in motion. I’ve tried every combination in the DRPE in 7D0-09-xxxx-xxxx-*xxx in the AB APIM database. Does this mean that my vehicle/system is not capable of this feature? I attached my current AB for my 2013 F250, if someone wouldn’t mind checking my work. [Sync 3 retrofit with F150 AB] Thanks so much for the help

i may have messed up and re wrote the data without keeping a backup of it, is there anything i can do now that i re wrote it to my asbuilt that was sync 2?

Nope you’re back to square one.

You cannot load a Sync2/MFT config into Sync3, one is based on Windows CE 6.5 and the other is Blackberry QNX Auto

I’d start by going to one of the used car sites and finding a 2016 F150 with the same options as yours.

Use that VIN on https://www.motorcraftservice.com/Asbuilt/ and download the ASBuilt file for that.

Then load ForScan with no saved profile, go to the APIM in ASBuilt mode, chose load from file and select the AB that you downloaded. Save, then the APIM will restart, once its back up do a master reset.

From there test and see what works and what doesn’t work, if everything works crack a beer, if some things don’t work post it here along with a saved copy of the AB loaded in the APIM at that time (not the AB your downloaded from Ford).
