Google maps satellite view is surely prettier ?

Update to v3,4,20282 South Africa.
The was the longest update ever, was about 1 hour, then reset and updated gain for about 15min.
Because I never experience this long update I thought there was something wrong, I though there was a progress or status bar so that you can see if the system is updating and how far it is will be nice.
This seems like a major updated based on the time the update took, however I have not noticed anything different not new features. What does this update from from the previous?

Youā€™ve also set the previous version to 3.4.20282, so it likely hasnā€™t been updating. Re run the application with your CURRENT version, not 3.4.20282

Oh yeah, I hate the ugly white landscape. I wish it was full of green grass and where the woods were, that it would be dark green.

When I finished the update, I did have the climate button on my screen. However, I donā€™t have the visual when I adjust the temperature or fan speed. When I adjust the volume using the volume knob it shows me on the screen, but I donā€™t get the same thing with AC functions anymore. Has anyone else had this issue? Any fix?

Do you have manual climate control from the factory?
What model of 2015 F-150? This is an upgraded Sync 3 system from Sync 2ā€¦Sync 3.4.20282 fixed a bug in Sync software that enabled the climate controls for manual systems when it was not supposed to be enabled.

Sorry for the confusion, in my truck everything is great! I did this to my wifeā€™s 2013 Edge and I am having trouble in that. It has automatic climate control from the factory.

Iā€™m looking in the APIM at 7D0-01-02 at the 9th character. On the F150 spreadsheet it mentions that this controls the climate knob animation.

That is for rear climate type. If there are no knobs, etc., in the rear, then it will not apply.

Did you have automatic climate control from the factory on the Edge in Sync 2?

From the FAQ here:
Climate Controls are reversed/not working

  • Climate controls do not work correctly on the Focus mk3/3.5, Kuga/Escape and other older Ford vehicles.
  • This can include reversed temperature controls, non-functioning A/C or recirculation functions.
  • This is a legacy hardware issue and will not be fixed. Vehicles of this age have the climate controls on screen disabled from factory.

The 2013 Edge uses C1MCA rather than CGEA electronics architecture, and the AC controls will probably not work properly with the Sync 3 APIM.

If you did not have automatic climate control from the factory on the Edge, you will need to do this:
Climate controls appear after upgrading to Sync 3.4

  • After upgrading from 3.4, you may find that the Climate view appears when it was not enabled before. This is due to a change in the way that 3.4 uses a particular AsBuilt.
  • If you wish to disable it entirely, edit the following entry using Forscan and enter ā€˜80ā€™:

I updated from SYNC 3.0.20204 to SYNC 3.4.20282 on my 2018 Ford F150 XL-STX package without NAV. Found a couple very minor issues:

  1. Spotify music playback through Android auto will have a very small (like half a second) hiccups every 10 min or so. I did not notice this on SYNC 3.0
  2. Backup camera resolution seems worse and right side backup line guides seem slightly off compared to left
  3. Activating Android Auto while phone is locked keeps prompting for permissions each time

Otherwise works great! Not sure how many of these issues are related to SYNC 3.4 update or my phone.

PS a couple great observations:

  1. My truck did not come with NAV and came with the small LCD cluster. I installed the larger cluster screen a while back. With SYNC 3.4 Android Auto directions now mirror inside the gauge cluster! This is crazy cool
  2. My install time was very short with the reformat method. Every guide I read said itā€™d take 30 min so I was surprised when it went green and said success after only 6 min.

Absolutely this. I was actually shocked at how responsive 3.4 is compare to 3.0. Itā€™s almost like the touchscreen is physically more sensitive

@Louage might be able to comment on the Android phone observations, but Iā€™ve seen these comments before relating to the permissions. I think it is a setting in the phone?

Iā€™ve seen this complaint from more than a few folks concerning the resolution of the backup cameras in general. The resolution and light sensitivity is not great on these cameras, but this is not unique to Ford. It does have a lot to do with the image processing and the overlays used for the guide lines, etc. As far as the image guide lines, they probably look offset to one side or the other. If you ever had an alignment done on the truck and they did not pay attention to this, then your lines will be offset. It will look like this:

The only issue I have picked up is when using Android auto with the USB cable. Either my mobile phone screen goes blank (Black screen or either my car screen ) as soon as you unplug the cable the screens return.

Iā€™ve not heard of this before, Iā€™d suggest a master reset, removal of the android auto app from your phone and reinstall, plus make sure to remove the Bluetooth pairing from your phone to the vehicle and start over. Also try and swap out the usb cable youā€™re using.

use a different USB cable, i had this issue on other cars till i replaced my cable.

Hey can somebody please verify that 20282 has been officially released from the ford update checker website? Iā€™ve been checking on there every day and it still says my car is up to date, even though its on the version before that. I had updated a log file when i did the last update. Located in Europe. The car is a 2019 Ford Focus MK4

It has released for certain vehicles, their strategy for global roll out is a mystery
