Hi There, I have some problems with Android Auto/Google Maps/Ford.
Sometimes the direction on maps donāt match the directions on de head up display/odometer screen.
Donāt know if this is specific on 3.4.23188 thoughā¦
Is your phone upright??
Carplay uses the cars sensors over the phone so phone orientation āShouldnātā matter. Wireless Carplay in Sync 4 requires the Car Sensor Data.
This should not be posted hereā¦
Having said that, your photo does not make a lot of sense:
- the IPC instruction says itās 7.5 kms to the next instruction, yet Google Maps says your drive ends in 5 kms
- Sync3ās screen says itās 3,4 kms to the next instruction
So yeah, Iām not sure whatās that about, but Iām sure it should not be posted here.
Upgraded our 2016 King Ranch Expedition to 3.4.23188 from 3.0.19205.
Smooth as butter, took a total of about 40 minutes including maps.
Thank you.
Updated to 3.4.23188 today, everything fine apart from navigation, it says no navigation and a yellow triangle where maps should be. I tried to roll back by going to an earlier version but now when i use usb drives it says usb error (bad cable or something) even though my wireless apple car play dongle still works in the usb drive. so i canāt even update now or roll back.
The 3.4 update is there and everything fine apart from maps, any advice?
Have you master reset?
Are you sure you selected maps when upgrading?.

I have updated my sync to latest 3.4.23188 (Mondeo MK5 manuf 2017 Jan), it is non Navi but GPS used to work for clock reset and showing compas direction. After the update it does not comunicate with GPS mdule at all. Minor issue is that I can not change to black dispalay buttons (only blue are available). Any idea how to enable the GPS connection?
Did you do a master reset afterward?
yes I did master reset after update.
If some time passed since the update, the car as been driven and still no GPS lock, try reverting to an older 3.4 version to see if that fixes the issue. Do not use 22251 or 23088.
I remember reading only a few comments about some models on particular markets where an issue like yours may occur with latest builds.
Hi there, did anyone have an issue after the update that the ambient temperature has an offset of around 10C higher than it is, or a similar experience with the wrong outside temperature reading?
I have done the Master Reset after the installation and so far I have not noticed any other issues, other than one with the ambient temperature reading.
Of course, I am not 100% sure if the Sync 3 Update is the issue at all, but the ambient temperature sensor did work fine up until now.
And, as I can tell the sensor itself works, but with an offset of 10C more than the real outside temperature.
From this (and your general message) itās not clear WHEN did you start noticing the difference: āright after upgradingā or āsome time after upgradingā?.
If the first option, from which version did you upgrade?.
If the second option not related to Sync3 then: everything works fine until it doesnāt.
I upgraded from version 3.4.20351
I understand what you are trying to say and I am not sure, but I did not notice the issue in the first week or two after the upgrade
I did not drive all that much in the last weeks, but from what I can tell, I think the ambient temperature looked ok after the update, in the first week or two.
Do you have any idea, or do you think that maybe the downgrade would do me any good?
Sure, you can install the old version where you are sure the temperature was correctly displayed. That will give you an answer. You only need to autoinstall the apps package, so itās a quick test you can perform. But, based on what you have just said, it may not change a thing, but will give you a peace of mindā¦
Thank you for your feedback.
About to roll back to the older version. Is the process the same in the sense that I need in the settings (Syn3 Updater) to enter my current version 3.4.23188 and then when I go to the next step to install āNew Versionā simply select the older version 3.4.20351, select My Region and in the Maps Part, can I leave āKeep Existing Mapsā since I now have the latest one?
Am I thinking correctly and did you mean that this rollback will be much faster the the completed update to the new one, which lasted about 40 minutes?
Yes, but unselect all resulting packages and leave only the apps one, it should be autoinstall mode. It should take about 10 - 15 minutes to install a single package (if not less).
Also, this is not the place for these kind of questions (basic Syn3Updater usage, which is very well documented)⦠So if you have doubts about the process, read the doc, use the chat or open a separate thread please.
