SYNC3 to 3.4 Error

It’s the non nav version

Should reformat be removed?

I suppose the contents of the autoinstall.lst file are just the boot loader, 1u5t-14g386-cb?

The reformat tool should not have been used, as this is a non-nav unit. (And not a 3.0 software.) However, try this:

  1. Make a new usb formatted exfat.

  2. Make a SyncMyRide folder with the three files above in it.
    5U5T-14G381-ED_1591670365000.TAR.GZ
    5U5T-14G391-CL_1580862907000.TAR.GZ
    4U5T-14G423-CA_123766.TAR.GZ

  3. Copy DONTINDX.MSA to the root of the usb. (If you don’t have it, leave it out.)

  4. Make a new autoinstall.lst file. Copy this:
    [SYNCGen3.0_ALL]
    Item1 = 5U5T-14G381-ED_1591670365000.TAR.GZ
    Open1 = SyncMyRide\5U5T-14G381-ED_1591670365000.TAR.GZ
    Item2 = 5U5T-14G391-CL_1580862907000.TAR.GZ
    Open2 = SyncMyRide\5U5T-14G391-CL_1580862907000.TAR.GZ
    Item3 = 4U5T-14G423-CA_123766.TAR.GZ
    Open3 = SyncMyRide\4U5T-14G423-CA_123766.TAR.GZ
    Options = Delay,AutoInstall

  5. Save and copy to root of usb.

  6. Install.

What year is the F150 you are installing this into? Is this a Sync hardware upgrade? Obviously the usb worked the first time as you were able to load the bootloader and get to this point. Let us know if this works…

A 2019 xlt, thank You for the help. I will give it a try

I mentioned above that the reformat tool should not have been used, But this would have been for units already on 3.2+. If you were coming from 3.0, you would have to use the tool to reformat the EMMC. The is another post here which is exactly the same situation. Non-nav sync 3.3 issues

That would have had Sync 3.3.19025?

Thanks…heading out to the truck to give it another try

I keep getting the red screen update package not found

I configured the downloader for what you are doing and got this result. Is this what you originally had? Look at the log file it generated originally if you still have it.

Another suggestion if you would like to try it is to remove the Delay variable in the auto install.lst file.

to
Options = AutoInstall

I don’t know if this will have any affect…

I’m stuck on the “ starting upgrade” screen…20 minute ride to work with no change. Not sure exactly what if any I’m doing wrong. I’ve tried all of the suggestions with no success.

use another USB drive

I’ve used the Kingston drives and have not had an issue, but I think another drive would be recommended. Thanks…

By the way, I created the install on a Mac with Parallels with Windows 10 and the upgrade was successful. The drive was formatted under Windows by the Downloader app without issues.

New usb:

I will give it a go after work today…fingers are crossed.

While you are right it doesn’t need to be used. There is no harm in doing it this way still. Reformat is technically a cleaner way of upgrading anyway as it makes sure to free up space from wrong or old packages etc.

The autoinstall will be the bootloader only…make a new file with that only. The reformat looks fine.

You have done something wrong it’s not reading the reformat.lst file.
