Any on the outside of the car?
No, no antenna outside
So the GPS antenna that the Mustang that you provided the VIN for uses an externally mounted GPS antenna part number
HR3Z10E893ACPTM which is usually mounted in the rear roof area of the vehicle and needs to be grounded to the car via the bolt that holds it on the roof. Then you will need a cable run from there to the radio area. I do not think you would need a splitter as you have no satellite radio.
You do not necessarily need to mount it on the roof but where ever you mount it, it needs to be grounded. For example, if you mount it interiorly on a plastic piece, you will need to run a wire to ground it to the vehicle. You also could mount it on the back deck under the trim panel.
Not sure if that is something you want to get in to.
It’s curious because on the 2014 S197 I previously had, I installed a Dynavinn radio and a GPS antenna like the one in the photo, and it worked very well. It’s the same type of antenna that comes with the Sync3 kits sold on Ali Express.
Otherwise, where can I find an HR3-10E893ACPTM antenna?
And thanks for your help ![]()
It’s okay, I didn’t notice it was a link…
I just mentioned this on a forum in France. My APIM is programmed for an automatic transmission, but my Mustang has a manual transmission. They say this could cause a conflict with the GPS.
7D0-01-02: xx8x-xxxx-xxxx
I think I need to reprogram this:
7D0-01-02: xx9x-xxxx-xxxx What do you think?
I think the APIM needs to be programmed as close as it can be to your car. Not sure if it makes a difference for your GPS situation.
ok thanks, I will let you know if there is any change after programming.
I’ll give you an overview, problem solved ![]()
My car was configured with an automatic transmission instead of a manual transmission, and the antenna location was indicated on the roof, even though it’s actually behind the windshield under the speaker grille.
So I changed it: 7D0-01-02 xx9x-xxxx-xxxx for the gearbox, and: 7D0-03-01 x3xx-xxxx-xxxx
And now my GPS works correctly.
Thanks everyone for your help.
Yup that where I was headed with it about 6 days ago.
Yes, I answered you, maybe I explained myself badly because I use a translator to communicate, sorry.
Thank you for sharing the solution for your issue… Should anyone else face something similar, your experience will help them out.
Thank you
