Update Needs to go to 2.x first, or can I go right to the latest with the Cyanlabs app, from 1.0 Build 15139.

I own a 2016 Ford Edge, running SYNC 3, Software Version 1.0, Build 15139. I want to upgrade/update so I can try to use Android Auto. Do I need to manually update to 2.x and then can use the updater app? Can I use the updater app and go right to the latest version? Thanks!

Manually install HN1T-14G381-SA, which is 2.2.17011, known as the “AA/CP activation build”. Once you confirms AA/CP works, you can do whatever you want to the unit.

Also, you will have to replace the USB HUB if you plan to upgrade to 3.4 → Media Hub, CarPlay Compatible - 2015-2020 Ford/Lincoln - SYNC 3
