In case I upgrade to a higher version and want to go back again to 19274 can I do it directly using SynUpdater or do I have to go back to 3.3. again?

You can go directly back to 3.4.19274 as long as you do not need to use the reformat tool for new maps. In that case, it would be required to go back earlier than 19200, so we encourage 3.3.19052 because it frees up extra space for upgrades to work properly.

You can go direct from where you are forward and backwards as long as it is just app updates/changes.

Glad you got it all sorted. It’s nice when it works right. I think there might be an installation bug based on order of package installation or maybe a storage space issue related to that. Yours worked, so share that with them.

My delault navi voice country is set to Germany. So to set a destination by voice commands in the country I am now (outside Germany) I have to say: “Destination” “Address” “Change Country” and then I have to spell the country. But even after spelling, the system does not respond with all possible spelled combination letters. See picture below: [20201129_124701] Is there a way, I can permanently set my voice activated country to another one (not Germany) so I do not have to pass through…

Having the same issue, after upgrading from 3.0 to 3.4.21098 navigation voice commands come up with “not ready yet”

The log indicates no issues. Have you performed a master reset on the APIM? If not, do so and see if that corrects the issue.

If this does not fix it, run the APIM Interrogator Tool in the Syn3 Updater app and post the results here.

Yes, i have performed a master reset. The navigation works normally, no issues other than the voice command. The rest of the voice commands work just fine, switch fm-am, set temperature etc. I will run the interrogator and post the result.

You can try to just re-install the NAV-Voice files independently and see if that fixes the issue.

having being dealing with this problem for a long time, I tend to beleive that this is a bug in the 3.4 software. I know about ten (10) 3.4 installations in Greece having the same problem. The only case I got it to work correctly is by reverting to 19274. Any upgrade higher that that results in the same problem “Navigation is still loading…Try again later”
Very frustrating!

Note: as long as you set a destination all voice commands work fine (!!!)

Thank you for the input. I was under the impression that you were successful in restoring the voice commands by rolling back to a previous version, then upgrading again.

In any case i don’t really care, i don’t use voice commands for navigation. I am just a bit of a perfectionist and would like anything that can work to work

But since this issue appears on cars even with the official update, there might still be hope from Ford fixing it.

It is a pitty that Ford Greece has been lacking behind the whole competition by NOT offering Greek localization in both menus and messages/GUI.
And it is really a dissapointment, that now we loose even some of the English voice commands…

It’s not a matter of perfectionism, it is just a matter of making things work as they have to!

PS You may also be aware that the greek Giota character is wrongly displayed as the english equivalent (“i” instead of “ι”) and in addition to that the Greel capital Lamda is again wrongly displayed as the english V ( “V” instead of “Λ”)…

Yes i noticed that too. There is a guy in the Cyanlabs Discord server that claims that he will be most probably working on the bugtracking of Sync3. Maybe we can report these issues and hopefully get them fixed.

This is very good information. It truly looks like a Sync software issue. I think this issue might be wider spread than just for Greece. It’s a shame that Ford software engineering (or their 3rd party) has not spent the time or effort to fix issues like this in their systems. I know this has to be very disappointing for you.

I had the same problem on Sync 3.4.21194 after upgrading maps to NA 2.20 from CyanLabs. Most voice commands would work, but specific navigation voice commands would not, for example “Find a place” and “Find an address”. Error message was along the lines of “Function not available, please complete the update”. However, the update had completed without error message. Ultimately, I fixed it by downloading the official NA 2.20 maps from Ford and installing them over the NA 2.20 maps from CyanLabs. Since then, all voice commands work.

Well, all I can tell you is my actual observations: before I installed the official maps over the CyanLabs maps, it would not recognize the update as complete and these specific nav voice commands won’t work, after the reinstall with the official maps the error message did not appear again and all voice commands work.

Thank you for the feedback about the installation. Most likely there was an incomplete or corrupted installation, which was fixed when the files were overwritten.

Yes, apparently that was the case. What was surprising though is that the previous CyanLabs map installation completed without any error or indication of an incomplete installation.
