Voice navi commands not working on Syn3.4.20196

After succesfully updating to the above version (from Sync3.0.19205) -thanks Cyanlab guys and F150chief- ALL the voice commands to set a destination (Home, city, POI, favorites, previous dest etc) NOT working. System responds in voice saying : “The navigation is still loading. Please try again later”
Other commands not dealing with setting a destination (eg zoom in, show map, cancel route etc) do work.

Performing system reset did not help.
Any ideas?

Car: Ecosport MY2018

Are you sure you flashed the correct region?

Did you re-run the upgrade and load the maps?

YES!
I selected EU in both config and newversion fields.

YES I do. Maps are working perfect but voice commands fail.

post your log file from you USB

I run the upgrade once and selected F9(2019) -EU(09/2020) MAPS.
Maps are working fine. Voice commands fail.

Thanks in advance!

Everything looks fine there, is this a modified APIM? some changes to AsBuilt to spoof the region etc?

Not at all! Pure stock APIM.
Under 3.0 voice navi command were working perfect. No issues.

Take a look at your IVSU screen or run the APIM Utility and post the results. See if the installation finished properly. It sounds like the voice file installation might have had an issue. Maps seem ok. I found several instances of this issue on the Ranger5G forum.

Follow the instructions and run this utility and we can see if everything installed correctly…

Here is the IVSU SCREEN

I don’t see anything that would be causing the issue with the nav voice commands. At this point, you could try a reset or two, but I think that re-installing the nav maps and voice would be the better option. It will be easier just to re-install the whole thing. Downgrade to 3.3.19052, then upgrade back to this.

Do I understand well that when you say re-intall you mean to re-run the whole USB with all the files from 3.0.19205 to 3.4.20196???

You can’t go back to 3.0, but you only need to go back to 3.3.19052.
2 steps:

  1. Downgrade to 3.3.19052. You can use the Syn3 app to do this.
  2. And then run the usb again.

Manual Downgrade Option

NOTE:
You can use the Syn3 Updater application for downgrading your Sync 3 system.

To manually downgrade the unit to Sync 3.3.19052, download 4U5T-14G381-AN_1552583626000.TAR.GZ. The file can be found in the APIM IVSU Database.

Follow the instructions below:

  1. Create a USB drive (format as EXFAT) with a SyncMyRide folder.
  2. Copy the utility file downloaded above into the SyncMyRide folder.
  3. In the root of the USB is the autoinstall.lst and DONTINDX.MSA files which you can obtain from any upgrade you previously performed.
  4. You will need to edit the autoinstall.lst file so it looks like the example below:

[SYNCGen3.0_ALL]
Item1 = 4U5T-14G381-AN_1552583626000.TAR.GZ
Open1 = SyncMyRide\4U5T-14G381-AN_1552583626000.TAR.GZ
Options = AutoInstall

  1. Insert USB in vehicle and wait for the installation to complete. You should see a message indicating completion.
  2. Remove the USB drive and reboot the APIM.

This should force a downgrade to 3.3.19052. You will be able to upgrade using the Syn3 Updater application from 3.3.19052 to the latest version of Sync 3.4.

I really appreciate your prompt and documented response.
In this case for the new upgrade, I will select again MAPS as F9(2019) - EU(09/2019) Right?

select again MAPS as F9(2019) - EU(09/2019), yes

For the downgrade what do you suggest:

  • using syn3 with no maps or

  • using manual method?

That one…keep existing maps.
