Xm radio logos disappeared

2016 interceptor utility, had the xm radio logos when i did the 4in to 8in upgrade running sync 3.0 20204, found cyan labs and upgraded to sync 3.4 21265 everything works great aside losing the xm logos, not a huge issue xm still works but it was a nice touch having the logos, i followed the directions and master reset sync after each update. ive since updated to 3.4 22048 def a bit snappier with android auto, any one know how to fix this or am i, S O L

To clarify, you are saying that you had the XM logos on Sync 3.0.20204 after the upgrade from the Sync 1 to Sync 3?

All of the XM logos are included in the Sync app (OS) except for the ‘special’ occasional channels. There is most likely a communications issue or asbuilt setting that needs to be resolved. All you will get with the hardware you have (2016) is the channel logos. You cannot get the advanced logos or artist info unless you have the X40 hardware (late 2019+).

does the apim info pop up with forscan? ill post my as built data tmrw once i can get to it. im not sure what changed after the upgrade, but yes to answer your question, after the sync 1 to sync 3 upgrade i had the logos, once i upgraded to 3.4 21265 i lost them, i performed the same 3.0 to 3.4 upgrade on my buddies f150 but he retained them. on the screen it would show the channel logo, name, song and at times the year of the songs release on certain channels.

What year, model is his truck?

Your APIM asbuilt has some errors.
You have DAB enabled, this is for EU only, not NA. This could cause issues with the logos.
7D0-01-01 xxxx xxxX xxxx Change ‘A’ to ‘2’ for DUAL ZONE, 06 for SINGLE ZONE. (See below)
You have Enhanced Memory enabled. This needs to be disabled as your vehicle cannot support it.
7D0-02-02 xxxx xxxx Xxxx Change ‘4’ to ‘8’.
You have Online Traffic and Enhanced DAB turned on. This is for EU only. Online Traffic is not available in the US other than Sirius Travel Link.

You have a configuration conflict with the HVAC controls. At 7D0-01-01 above, this is set to DUAL ZONE, but at 7D0-04-01 xxxx xxXX xxxx the setting is for a SINGLE ZONE. If you indeed have a Dual Zone HVAC system, then change 7D0-04-01 xxxx xxXX xxxx from ‘02’ to ‘00’.

Your ACM asbuilt needs to be adjusted for Sync 3. There is no APIM described and you have 10 presets selected. You need to indicate that there is an APIM present (Sync 3) and your vintage of hardware will not do the 10 preset option, you get 6 presets. The SiriusXM settings are correct.
Change:
727-01-01 1800 3000 80xx (xx=Checksum bytes, let FORScan calculate the values.)
727-01-02 0000 31 (This is optional, it will flatten the audio equalization built in by Ford.)

I think what you were seeing in Sync 3.0 are the channel logos, not the station logos. Although these are not showing up on your APIM under Sync 3.4. This is probably due to the APIM asbuilt values above or firmware for Sync 3.0, and you are running software for Sync 3.4. I don’t have an APIM with Sync 3.0 to test…but there were changes to the media player in Sync 3.4. Maybe @bill32399 can chime in on this?

Also, you will not get FM logos to populate, the ACM hardware does not support it. (2020 ACM’s will support both the SiriusXM logos, artist info, etc., and the FM and HD Radio logos.)

Unlike the FM logos in Europe the Sirius logos are sent via the satellite signal. I would recommend doing the changes @F150Chief has recommended and waiting a day and the logos should repopulate.

Also what antenna are you using for the navigation? Did you get an after market one? Are you using the OEM roof mount shark fin or do you have the black aerial back there? Did you also have the 2 or 3 way splitter on the antenna wires behind the glovebox or did you install this?

The dual zone ac option was already there when i purchased the kit from infotainment however i will change the things you mentioned when i get home from work tonight and report my findings, i appreciate you taking the time to look into this for me, my buddoes truck is also a 16 f150 i believe the fx4 tier. His had nav and sync 3 from the factory.

So as far as the nav goes its an aftermarket one provided in the kit, for my fm and xm i bought the jumper from ford as my car being the police variant only came with a single wire from the splitter, i also had to buy an acm that had xm built in, used from ebay i had infotainment preprogram the apim to acknowledge the new acm with xm because they use the as built data based off the vin and if you run mine xm wasnt an option. I have a black shark fin antenna that does both fm and xm.

That shark fin also does Satellite Nav. Depending on the splitter you got if it is a 3 way with a small black box on the line you would not need the garbage Nav antennas that are out there. It would have the Blue Nav plug for the APIM. Also since it is aftermarket and the PIU does not have the Sat radio wiring in it I am guessing they sold you a harness that supposedly has the correct Sirius wiring in it? There are several wires that go directly from the ACM to the APIM that are dedicated to the Sirius signals. These carry the data to the APIM and if they are not right you wont get the correct info. You would when you first plugged it in but than it would disappear and not come back.

Most of all I suspect they programmed your APIM wrong and once you make those changes it will work a lot better.

The harness they sold was literally plug and play, but since i didnt have nav to begin with i dont remember anything having to plug into it. I’ll double check the splitter, but i remember it only being a double plug but if it does have the blue box ill certainly get the wire from ford. Im not sure of what wires came from the acm in the supplied harness it was just easy to install lol. But it must of been ok cause i did have the logos with the original sync 3.0. I appreciate you guys helping me out with this.

The double one is all you need as it has the second Sat line. The box is not Blue but the plug is and this is only to use the OEM method of receiving the Nav Sat signal. I will post a picture of one.

I just thought losing the XM logos was something I had to deal with, because I went from 3.0 to 3.4.
