I work at Ford in the Czech Republic service. I researched the possibilities, whether it is possible to know that I updated to a different version than the official one from the Ford.cz/co.uk website.
I have a Ford S-Max 2019 with a 7 year warranty.
1.) It depends on what problem you will have and it depends on what it will be for the warranty technician with whom you will solve it.
2.) Ford has a Ford etis website. There is a transition to Ford PTS (US version, respectively worldwide) In that Ford PTS tab there is a Ford SYNC tab. You can see everything about your sync, when it was compiled, when it came and what was the history of the SW. I downloaded version I think 3.4. 20282 (official was lower 20xxx). After checking it out, the Ford PTS did not see that I had a new version. Until I clicked to check for updates directly in SYNC and system diagnostics. That diagnostics is sent. Since then, Ford has seen what version I have. It has a version written on it: OTA, ie. that I could pull it over the air, ie, the system itself offered it to me SYNC.
3.) I encountered that the customer had problems with SYNC, they sent me data directly from Ford for its update, which they downloaded from another car.
So to sum it up, I wouldnāt see a problem with that, because even if someone verified this in Ford, they would see that the update offered itself and was downloaded, installed using OTA.
im trying to upgrade to 20351 from 20282, im using sync updater in auto detect mode, the app download gracenotes, apps and voice, y have no maps and use to be ROW but now south america is in ANZ, anyway the instalation mode the app chooses is autoinstall, but when i put it in my car, just get stuck in updating software and nothing happens, i wait 40 min and nothing happend. please help how do i make the upgrade thanks, sorry for the shitty english
SA has been in ANZ since a while back, so your 20282 is still ANZ, not ROW.
Leaving that aside, make sure there are no other USB drives connected to the car, or SD readers or cards.
Just did an update on my 2017 F250 from 3.0.19205 Nav 1 17 to 3.4.20351 Nav 1 19 and the update was a success. Everything seems to be working fine. Will donateā¦thank you Cyanlabs.

Hi, first time UK user here. Upgraded my hardware from Sync2 to Sync3 last weekend in my 2016 Mondeo, APIM from from a 2018 Ranger. Today using Syn3 I upgraded Sync3 2.3.17109 to 3.4.20351 which was a very slick and smooth process, well done guys.
Pros : Android Auto Wired USB to Sync3 is now reliable. Android Auto Prompt Volume being ignored and defaulting to Audio Volume when playing music and deafening me has been fixed!
Con : So far Iāve only noticed that Android Auto is detecting the headunit as Left Hand Drive and putting the main icons to the left, whereas 2.3 had then correctly on the right. I canāt see a way to fix this via the AA config. Iāve noticed this being referenced here in this thread but my Climate controls are all correctly placed/working and was probably happening in previous builds ā¦ Right Hand Drive Climate temperature backwards
I guess you can blame Google as well. Given most of the effort will be in writing the auto detection / screen layout code then how much effort is it to provide an Auto/LHD/RHD drop down config option!
Weird that it worked ok (well showed RHD layout) in 2.3, maybe their regression testing is crap and/or its developed in a RHD country and wasnāt spotted. Given that, I wonder if the devs monitor this site for bugs ?

Hello, I am currently using the SYN3 Updater 2.0 to download the latest sync 3.4 version to update my currently sync 3.0.20204 , Europe Region. I chose reformat method as per your guidelines.
I have some questions beforehand: Will the āVignaleā logo be retained after this update? Currently the Vignale models show the Vignale logo on system boot-up.
Also, since I have the 2.0 Hybrid Engine is there a possibility that this update will mess some specific hybrid features (such as brake efficency, battery charge status, drive mode ev/non-ev/hybrid etc.).
Since I donāt live in the EU or own a vignale, Iām unsure about the retainment of the vignale logo. SYNC 3 does not touch anything related to the hybrid system, it only reads it.
2021 Explorer ST with navigation and tech package recently upgraded successfully to 3.4 v20351 but it appears it affected my SiriusXM Traffic Services. I had them when I was running previous 3.4 v20282 but they will not return
Contacted SiriusXM Tech support 4X , after 7 radio refresh signals, 2 battery disconnects still nothing.
Anyone running 20351 and still showing Traffic Services on Navigation screen?
